FOCUS ON THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION Social issuesMembers of CEBSD are keen to link the practice of Community Development to some of the key issues in the development of Social Europe. The contribution of Community Development to Social Cohesion is seen as a part of a broader context of building inclusive and creative democratic dialogue. CEBSD seeks to develop a shared understanding of different interpretations of Social Cohesion and its interrelationship with the debate on Social Services on the one hand and on the development of active citizenship and sustainable development at the other.
For background on how the three stands of work interlink, see the CEBSD Annual Report 2005-2006 in the CEBSD news section. For the final report on the end of the European Commission funded Grundtvig project on Training and Learning for Community Development see the TLCD section of this website.
